In these prints, Lee works with his distinct visual vocabulary of symbols and forms. Twisting ribbons, vessels, crosses and blossoms - which often represent spritual ideas - evoke tableaux of the imagination. Like his paintings, the prints are in a square format and are created with a vivid palette. Because of the woodblock printing process, the prints posses a translucence and explicitness that differ from his other work, which is made of layered enamel on copper or on wood panels.
